ALMAH International (Advocates for Life through Music Arts and Humanities) awarded Jonathan Powell with a $4,000 scholarship towards his college tuition. He will be attending Full Sail University in Orlando, Fla., where he will pursue a career in music.

Like many musicians, Powell grew up in the church listening to the music, just hoping for an opportunity to play. There he developed his passion for playing drums at a very young age. His dedication to service along with his commitment to cultivate his gift has prompted ALMAH to sow a seed into his life and musical career. It is important for ALMAH, that as its team experiences success, they reach back and pull others up. ALMAH hopes that this gesture will serve as a sign that Powell will continue to matriculate, be successful and someday live the motto – ‘Lifting as we Climb’.”

ALMAH was born in 2014, a brainchild of Randy Corinthian who has a heart for the youth, primarily young men and that of empowering and giving back. Corinthian believes, “it’s important for our young people to know that we love and support them. Not only with our words; but also with our actions.”

For this scholarship award, ALMAH and its board members partnered with Douglas Bramwell, CEO – Brammo Entertainment Group, to align their mission with the “Legacy of Greatness” initiative established at Gateway Church in honor of the late founder, Pastor Noel. G. Hyatt.

Almah International is a non-profit organization that remains committed to its mission to empower the global community by providing uplifting opportunities for personal enrichment and economic sustainability for youth and adults through education, training, music and the arts.
