     MIAMI, FL – On May 24, 2013, more than a hundred graduating seniors of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project were recognized as 2013 scholarship recipients. The program’s founder, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, awarded scholarships to the students in a ceremony held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Miami. Congresswoman Wilson also awarded a scholarship to Role Model Jhavaris Fulton, brother of slain Miami-Dade County Public Schools student Trayvon Martin.

Jhavaris is a student at Florida International University. Role Model Paul V. Wilson, Administrative Director, Labor Relations, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, was the keynote speaker.
