The P.E.A.R.L.S. Foundation of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, in collaboration with the Upsilon Xi Omega Chapter, is pleased to present our annual “A Fathers’ Affair” Luncheon.

This annual event honors fathers and father figures who have made significant contributions to our community. These honorees play a vital role in the lives of others while achieving enormous success in their professional careers. This momentous affair will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the Radisson Bahia Mar Resort, 801 Seabreeze Blvd, Fort Lauderdale. There cost of the luncheon is $60.00 for adults and $25.00 for children.

This is the 11th year of this recognition luncheon and past honorees have included, Attorney Benjamin Crump, Congressman Alcee Hastings, State Senator Christopher Smith, Attorney George Allen, former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Fred Taylor and  Pastor Derrick J. Hughes, to name a few.

The theme of this year’s event, “Fathers’ and Father Figures: Simply the Best”, will recognize honorees: Lamar Davis, Retired City of Hollywood Fire Chief; Kirphton Fray, local entrepreneur and owner of Doctor Buggs  Exterminators; Captain Kevin Granville, Dania Beach Police Chief; Nathaniel Green, President, Broward Pan-Hellenic Council; Shervin Jones, State Representative; Dr. Robert Runcie, Broward County Superintendent of Schools; Gregory Salters, Major, Fort Lauderdale Police Department; Joshua David Scruggs, Most Worshipful Masonic Grand Master and Earnest Tolliver, Principal, Margate Middle School.

We welcome your attendance at this prestigious community event. Proceeds will provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors and support other community initiatives and projects.
