Art Psalms: Inspirations of faith, hope, and love expressed through art and poetry

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – George Gadson’s book, Art Psalms: Inspirations of Faith, Hope and Love Expressed Through Art and Poetry, is a compilation of poetry and works of art by Gadson.  The book was created to take the reader to a level of intimacy with God – experiencing comfort, peace, joy and clarity of life’s purpose and destiny. The unique combination of original paintings/ artwork and original poetry creates a one of a kind edition.  Gadson will be discussing his book on, Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center AARLCC).

“George Gadson is a powerful visual artist who seems to excel in nearly every media. His art and poetry bid us on a journey far beyond shapes and forms and connect on a spiritual level. His book is perfect for anyone desiring a moment of spiritual reflection and meditation and will make a great gift”, said Dr. Chris Brewer of the Kaleo Institute.

Gadson, artist and social entrepreneur, discovered his talent of art in 1981 while in search of a means of creative relaxation from the rigors of a demanding banking career. He quickly became enamored by the insight, enchantments, and spiritual empowerment that the experience of painting and other art forms allowed him. His artworks express different aspects and values of life, with an underlying spiritual message that seeks to reconnect the human spirit with God, the creator.

The self-taught artist has been commissioned to create works of art for many high pro-file events and individuals, including an ornament for the White House Christmas tree in 2008. In 1995 and 1999, respectively, Gadson created two South Florida Super Bowl bronze commemorative sculptures aptly named “The Quarterback” and “The Kicker.” Each sculpture was given to the National Football League Team owners.
