Can you hear Me now

“And He was saying, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 4:9 (NAS)

By Bobby R. Henry, Sr.

While cleaning out my ears the other morning, I was shocked to find some interesting stuff on the end of the Q-tip-yuck!

Once I gave my ears a good cleaning I felt a bit of relief as if some small amount of pressure was released.

It is amazing how a little cleaning of blockage can offer such a freedom.

How often do we tell ourselves that we would like to be able to hear from God?

As the accumulation of stuff develops in our ears physically, we can find ways to remove them.

However, there are some things that we cannot see that prevent us from hearing the voice of God through His Word and the Holy Spirit.

These obstructions will take an entirely different form of extraction, one which requires much more than a once a month physical cleaning.

Do to the complicated nature of hearing and what causes us to hear it is more than just a notion to want to hear.

There is so much associated with the felicities of hearing the voice of God, that the inner workings are aligned to the cerebral as well as the physical.

You  have to put yourself in a position to hear.

Removing one’s self away from the noise (that which prevents you from hearing) is the first step in getting in tune to hear.

Noise that interferes with hearing the voice of God can be summed up by stating that when we turn away from paying attention to His teachings that come from His Holy Word- that’s all noise.

Physical distractions of noise really have no interference with hearing God. God’s Spirit can transcend ANY obstacle, ANY barrier-ANYTHING!

What prevents us from hearing God is that -We don’t know how to listen.

Putting ourselves in the position to listen to God, we will hear Him.

We get ourselves in position to listen to God when we follow His Word, our hearing is obstructed when we don’t.

All of the earwax, the dirt and deafening booms that burst in air, in the world can’t prevent us from listening to God when we are in His Word.

The Word of God surpasses unimaginable barriers to allow us to listen to Him with Faith.

When our hearing is being impaired by dissimilar clatters, let’s use God’s cleaning Word to open the channels to our soul, allowing us to listen to and hear Him clearly.

As with all lessons, learning to listen to be able to hear God’s voice, we need to be taught by a teacher.

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:14-15

“Lord my ears may be dirty and clogged up, but my soul is being washed in Your Word, enabling me to listen  and hear Your voice with clarity directing my path, even though I may stumble-You are still there.”—Bobby R. Henry, Sr.
