School Board Member Dr. Rosalind Osgood, Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner Bobby Dubose and Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Student Support Initiatives, Department of Diversity, Cultural Outreach & Prevention are pleased to announce a first of its kind event in Broward County. “Hear Our Cry: Courageous Conversations to Better Care for our LGBTQ Youth” will be presented on Monday, April 14, 2014, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC), 2650 Sistrunk Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Light refreshments will be provided. This evening will herald a critical conversation that will bring awareness to under-standing the health, safety and resiliency of lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender and questioning children in Broward County schools, with particular emphasis on students of color. The capstone of the evening will be the debut of the thought provoking art and social justice project “Sankofa,” created by students from nine District schools under the direction of Nzingha,” artist-in-residence
