This communication is to request that this PSA be placed in your next edition of the Miami Times to notify the community of the upcoming event hosted by the Prince Hall Shriners (Masonic Family) World-Wide. The Prince Hall Shriners Family World-Wide is celebrating “Gala Day”. “Gala Day” is a Day designated by Prince Hall Shriners World-Wide to recognize and honor the Deputies of Prince Hall Shriners and our Daughter’s auxiliary all over the world.
For your edification, The Deputy of the Desert, (State/Territory) is the equivalent the Governor of a State/Territory). The Deputy, and his counterpart for the Daughters govern and enforce policies and procedures established by the Imperial Council (The World-Wide Governing Body of Prince Hall Shriners).Thus, we take this time to recognize and Honor them for their Service, Dedication and Leadership to the Order, World-Wide. Our Honorees for this year’s Gala are Deputy Billy D. McLamb, Deputy of the Desert of Florida, and Daughter Roceeda Steven-son.
“Gala Day will be hosted this year in the State/Desert of Florida by SABA Temple #186 – Pompano Beach, FL . Gala Day activities begin on Wednesday May 30,2018, and end on June 3, 2018. .Gala Day Activities consist of the following:
-Opening Ceremonies/welcome (closed to the public)
-Welcoming Ceremony (open to the public) Friday, June 1, 2018 at 9 a.m., at the Headquarters Hotel.
-Youth Programs/Activities (Wednesday thru Saturday).
-National Diabetes Walk, Parade and Picnic – Snyder Park, 3299 S.W. Fourth Ave, Fort Lauderdale, Fla,33315
NDI Walk registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the tax deductible donation is $20.00 pp. Parade begins immediately after the NDI Walk.
-Gala/Ball – Commences at 7:30 p.m. – until at Headquarters Hotel – Pier 66.
With the exception of the Picnic and our hospitality events, all other events will take place at our Headquarters Hotel, which is Pier 66 Resort and Marina, located at 2301 S.E.17 St., Fort Lauderdale, Fla 33316. Please note that the tax deductible donations for the entire series of events cost only $100.00, which includes attendance at the Gala/Ball (Attire is Formal).
