In observance of International Violence Against Women Act and Domestic Violence Month, the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. sponsored by the Westside Gazette will host a class designed to introduce women to self defense techniques that have proven to be life-saving, Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at 6:15 p.m., at Kathleen C. Wright Development Center 2250 N.W. 21 Ave., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. All women and girls are encouraged to attend this FREE event. This self-defense class will be co-sponsored by Girl Jitsu, Inc. The techniques taught are effective enough to be employed by tactical response teams and military personnel, but simple enough to be utilized by the everyday citizen.
