Democratic Women’s Club of Northeast Broward to host Democratic Party Chair Mitch Ceasar

The Democratic Women’s Club of Northeast Broward will hear Mitch Ceasar, Democratic Party Chair on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 7 p.m., at Emma Lou Olson Civic Center, 1801 N.E. Eighth St., Pompano Beach, Fla.

Mitch Ceasar is the Chair of the Broward County Democratic Party, having been re-elected to his fifth term in 2012; Ceasar was first elected Chair in December 1996. Ceasar serves on the Executive Board of the Democratic National Committee, representing the fourteen southern states. In 2002 he received the Golden Gavel Award for Outstanding Chair by the Florida Democratic Party.

    Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Ceasar moved to Florida in 1973 and received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Florida Atlantic University and his Juris Doctorate from Nova University Law School.  He was admitted to practice law in 1990 and practices in his private law firm in Plantation.  Ceasar currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Sheppard Broad Law Center of Nova.  He was inducted into the Sheppard Broad Law Center Hall of Fame.

    Ceasar was one of the final 28 delegates nationally providing candidate Barack Obama with his historic Democratic nomination in 2008.  Ceasar is a well-known and active spokesperson for the Democratic Party and has been featured locally and nationally in radio and television political commentary.

    The meeting is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.
