Final Call to Florida Artists! for Lauderhill Library Project at Central Broward Regional Park

The Broward Cultural Division’s Public Art & Design Program is seeking to commission an artist or artists to create original site-specific artworks for the Library portion of the new Lauderhill Cultural Center and Library, located adjacent to Central Broward Regional Park.

It is intended that the artwork will enhance and support the library’s unique sports theme and sports-related programing. The artwork will enrich the visual appeal of the library’s interior space, and may take the form of a mural. Artwork must be durable, permanent, low maintenance and in compliance with ADA guidelines. It is essential that the artwork be functionally and spatially integrated into the Library. It is envisioned that the selected artist will take an approach that activates the entire available wall space. All media will be considered. “This is a great opportunity for a Broward artist to contribute to the appearance and “sense of place” we hope to create within a County library,” says Jody Horne-Leshinsky, Interim Director, Broward Cultural Division.

The artwork budget is $40,000. This budget includes all costs associated with the creation of the artwork: including but not limited to fabrication, delivery, installation, travel, supplies, taxes, insurance and photographic documentation.
