Florida Women leaders unite at the Women of Color Empowerment Conference in Fort Lauderdale

    Women of Color Empowerment Conference on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 marks the second year of the conference. The theme of the conference is “Building Relationships Uniting Leaders.” The conference will feature presentations from top leaders in the fields of health care, law, corporate, government, communications and technology.

    Several organizations are involved with planning the leadership conference and those organizations include: The North Broward County Chapter of the Links, Inc.; the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; The Right Group and the Zeta Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. 

    The conference will focus on educating and motivating dynamic Women of Color to more effectively lead organizations; launch effective campaigns and take full advantage of technology in today’s market-place. There will be various con-current seminars throughout the day. 

    This year, the conference welcomes nationally recognized speaker Xernona Clayton, president/CEO of the Trumpet Awards as its luncheon speaker.  She is a national power-house, former civil rights leader and former executive of Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta.

    Famous jazz artist Simone (daughter of Nina Simone) will perform during the luncheon. 

    The organizers will proudly host Judy Smith, America’s #1 Crisis Management Expert and the inspiration behind the #1 hit show; “Scandal.” There will be a 4 p.m. book signing for Smith which is open to the public with an RSVP to (954) 345-7745.
