LAUDERHILL, FL — Get ready to paint the town in Caribbean colors!  On Sunday, June 14th, the Central Broward Caribbean American Heritage Parade will take the streets of downtown Lauderhill featuring fun and excitement for the entire family!

This free event will quickly grow into one of South Florida’s largest and most anticipated Parade, attracting thousands of spectators for a one-of-a-kind celebration of all things Caribbean.

This year, in celebration of National Caribbean American Heritage Month, the inaugural year pageantry and excitement begins early at noon with the Caribbean American Heritage Parade starting from Central Broward Regional Park (State Road 7 and Northwest 11th Place) and continuing down 11th Place to Sunrise Boulevard and back, led by Grand Marshall Kaci Fennell, Miss Jamaica Universe. The colorful parade will feature more than 50 decorative entries and musical groups as well as street performers, representing Caribbean Countries of the Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica as well as local sports troops, local sports teams, and so much more.

Following the parade, stick around for the best Caribbean celebration in town at the Caribbean Village, which runs until 9 p.m. at the Central Broward Regional Park & Stadium. Festivities continue throughout the day at the Central Broward Regional Park at the Caribbean Village with live music from several Local and International bands, a cooking competition and plenty of fun and games for the kids.

In addition to outstanding entertainment, families and youngsters will love the festival’s expanded Kids Zone featuring bounce houses, gigantic slides, pony rides, a trackless train, face painting, and much more!

The festivities will also include exhibitor booths, arts and crafts, souvenirs, and plenty of your favorite Caribbean food and beverages.

“One of the main reasons the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) thought of creating the 1st Annual Caribbean American Heritage Parade is to provide downtown businesses with an added economic boost,” said President of the LRCC, Maria Munro.  “We anticipate that in years to come, the Caribbean American Heritage Parade and the Caribbean Village will attract thousands of residents, locals, and tourists, who enjoy the festivities while spending time and money at our downtown shops, restaurants, retail, cultural and entertainment venues.  By hosting the event on June 14th, our downtown businesses will benefit from the huge crowds that will attend the Parade & Village, a truly win/win for everyone.”
