Just for Laughs: Six reasons why Jay-Z let Barneys off the hook for racial profiling

By Your Black World

You may have noticed that Jay-Z is backing off the controversy over the racial profiling incidents at Barneys, the upscale department store in New York City. The controversy erupted after African Americans complained that they were interrogated after making expensive purchases at the store and are planning to sue.

Al Sharpton is backing Jay-Z, and we were trying to figure out why. After all, Black people in handcuffs can’t be a good thing, can it?

So, the Your Black World Team decided to put together a list of reasons that we think Jay-Z is agreeing not to speak out on the racial profiling incident at Barneys.

Here are some reasons we speculate to be behind Jay-Z’s decision to let Barneys off the hook:

1) Jay-Z has 99 problems and getting rich ain’t one. Barneys is paying the bills.

2) Barneys told him that they were only going to racially profile in their French store from now on, since they only have n****z in Paris

3) Jay doesn’t believe the victims’ stories: “No one ever bothers me when I shop at Barneys!”

4)      They promised Jay that if Harry Belafonte tries to come into the store, they are going to tackle him and bust his a**.

5) Because he believes that Black people can’t have that much money without rapping for a living.

6) Jay-Z’s accountant informed him that protecting Black people is just not as profitable as it used to be.
