No matter how hard you try, you can’t stop us now: Shadrach, Meshach and Abadnegro

“There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”      — Daniel 3:12 (KJV)

By Bobby R. Henry, Sr.

The Book of Daniel, Chapter Three, tells of a familiar story concerning three courageous and faithful men who refused to bow down, pay homage to or worship any other gods besides their own God.

Allow me to give a different account to that story by paraphrasing and bringing it closer to home while introducing an updated version with an emphasis placed on Abednegro, whose name has been changed to Abadnegro.

As the story goes, this certain C.A.N.G.dom (Caucasians Against Negroes and the General population, the original Tea Party) and King Nebuchadnezzar who for the purpose of this story could be referred to as Boehner, Bush, McCain, Chaney, Palin, Bachmann or any governmental influence that has participated in prohibiting, stalling and even overturning the progress of races other than Caucasian.

This C.A.N.G.dom builds an image of tarnished gold (false hopes and lies and trickery) that they called America and sets this image before the entire world as if to proclaim that America was “all that and a bag of chips”.

This CANGdom, its leaders and representatives and all those that reverenced it assembled (presidential election) to pay their respect for the dedication of this tarnished image that they created. The CANGdom and its courts all gathered together and waited for the new law to be passed.

This new law required that everyone, once the sound of music (gutter rap and senseless head banging) was heard, must fall to their knees (create all kinds of immortal and lascivious acts) and worship (act like the CANGdom leaders) the image. And those who didn’t would be thrown into a nuclear fiery furnace (poverty, no insurance, no jobs, no homes).

Then some of the Chaldeans (root workers) saw Shadrach, Meshach and ABadNegro not kissing up to the CANGdom went and called them out.

As a result of this defiance, ABadNegro and his boys were tried before the CANGdom.

ABadNegro and his boys were a part of the CANGdom, in that they worked for the man but were not like the man and did not kiss up to the man, nor did they worship the man’s god. You see, bowing to any other god was not a part of their makeup.

When ABadNegro and his boys were asked: “Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and ABadNegro, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?”

With the promise of being thrown into a nuclear fire pit, ABadNegro and his boys emphatically stated, “Yes and we can’t and will not worship any other God (Love and righteousness) but ours.”

So the CANGdom ordered some of its mightiest men (WWF Wrestlers and weight lifters and steroid users) to bind (afflict with diseases, poverty and loss of identity) and cast them into the fire (throw them away forever) and said, “Let’s see if your God can save you.”

ABadnegro and his boys told the CANGdom to, “do what you got to do, but we will not serve your god nor worship the CANGdom because our God is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.”

The CANGdom was furious and the entire countenance transformed against ABadNego and his boys. The CANGdom commanded that the nuclear fiery furnace should include in it the H and atom bomb.

So the steroid men bound and threw ABadNegro and his boys into the fire. The fire was so hot that the steroid men melted but nothing happened to ABadnegro and his boys; not even their clothes smelled of smoke and their Kangols were not singed.

Another strange thing happened in this story. Instead of three men in the fire the CANGdom saw, “four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” ABadNegro and his boys, being comfortable in the fire, stayed there until the CANGdom was convinced that there were some strange phenomenon taking place and they were being made aware of it firsthand.

Being summoned from the fire, ABadNegro and his boys came forth unharmed while the CANGdom looked on in astonishment, saying, “The God of Shadrach, Meshach, and ABadNegro be exalted! He sent his guardian angel and liberated his servants who had faith in him! They disregard the CANGdom’s orders and sacrificed their bodies rather than serve or venerate any god but their own.”

So the CANGdom passed a law that anybody who speaks against the God of ABadNegro and his boys will be cut to the white meat and their bones crushed to dust and their house will be made a dung hill because there is no other God that can deliver like their God.

After all of this AbadNegro and his boys were promoted to higher places in the Kingdom.

“And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods”.   — Joshua 24:16 (KJV)

The more man tries to change things the more they stay the same. From time to time I will re-use a piece I wrote in the past for which I find  appropriate for today and tweak it a little and this is one of them.
