Police identify gunman in shooting death of honor student D’aja Robinson

From Your Black World

New York police believe they have identified the teen gunman who sprayed a crowded bus with bullets two weeks ago, killing 14-year-old honor student D’aja Robinson.

The name of the 18-year-old gunman has not been released, but he is described as a perspective member of the South Jamaica-based gang called the Snow Gang.

Authorities say they believe the teen opened fire on the bus with a .40 caliber handgun on May 18th, hitting Robinson in the head as she made her way home from a sweet 16 party.

Authorities have not arrested the subject and consider him to be armed and dangerous.

Investigators say that although there is a rumor that another girl on the bus was associated with a rival gang, they have not been able to determine a motive in the case. After the shooting many people shared stories on Facebook of what they believed were the motives, but none of those stories have been corroborated.

Last week police questioned a person of interest but later found that he was not involved in the shooting. He was charged with a gun violation and later released.

Police believe the man who sprayed the bus with bullets is a wannabe gangster.

“Maybe he just thought spraying the bus would help him make his bones with the gang and make him seem like the big man on campus,” a law enforcement sources said.

“We don’t believe he is a full gang member, but he certainly is a full-fledged a—hole,” a source told DNAInfo.
