Secret Service intercepts another ricin laced letter sent to President Obama

From Your Black World

The Secret Service has confirmed that it intercepted a ricin laced letter intended for President Barack Obama on Thursday (05-30-13). The letter was similar to letters mailed to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the gun control groups he financially supports.

“The White House mail screening facility intercepted a letter addressed to the White House that was similar to letters previously addressed to Mayor Bloomberg in New York,” Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said in a statement. “This letter has been turned over to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force for testing and investigation.”

The letter sent to President Obama reads, “What’s in this letter is nothing compared to what I’ve got planned for you.”

Similar letters mailed to Bloomberg and Mayors Against Illegal Guns both referenced “debate over gun laws.”

Bloomberg has said that the letters he received will not change his stance on gun control.

“In terms of why they’ve done it, I don’t know,” Bloomberg said. “The letter obviously referred to our anti-gun efforts. But there’s 12,000 people who are going to get killed this year with guns and 19,000 that are going to commit suicide with guns and we’re not going to walk away from these efforts.”

Last month a Mississippi man was arrested for trying to send ricin-laced letters to President Obama, Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker and a judge.
