Twelve people shot at Mother’s Day Parade, including one 10-year-old

Your Black World

A mother’s day parade in New Orleans turned into a nightmare when gunshots rang out at the event. A total of 12 people were shot, including a 10-year-old.

No one was killed, but the hospitals were full from the mayhem that took place on Sunday afternoon.

There were over 300 people participating in the event, north of the city.

Police say that the number of victims stands at 12 and there are three suspects who were responsible.

The individuals who did the shooting were seen running toward Claiborne Avenue and a door-to-door search is being conducted to find those who are responsible.

“The shots just started ringing out, and everybody just started running, and the next thing I heard, 10-15 people got shot,” one witness told local station WDSU.

Three people are in critical condition, although no fatalities have been reported as of yet. Police are asking the community to provide any leads possible to help them to solve this very serious crime.

Gun violence is a serious problem in New Orleans, as well as other parts of the country.

According to the National Rifle Association, there are over 300 million guns in the United States, with 100 million of them being handguns.

The easy availability of handguns on the black market has led to handgun violence being the leading cause of death of Black men in America.
