On August 1st, the deadline to register to vote in this year’s critical primary elections, elected, community and faith leaders held press conferences around the state for voting rights as a campaign to amend the Florida Constitution to restore voting rights approaches a critical threshold. Tallahassee Event : “Floridians believe in second chances. Restoring the right to vote to people who have fulfilled their obligations to society gives them an opportunity for redemption and a chance to be full members of their community,” said Pastor Gregory James with Life Church International Center, outside of the Leon County Supervisor of Elections office.
