‘We need help from our friends’

      Dear Frienda of Kathleen C. Wright Leadership Academy.

     Kathleen C. Wright Leadership Academy (KCWLA) has been awarded a playground grant by KaBOOM! KaBOOM!, is a non-profit organization that connects funders with community groups to build playgrounds. Collaborating with KaBOOM!, KCWLA will be installing a playground at our school on Nov. 16, 2012. 

     To move this project forward, “WE NEED HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS.”  Listed below are ways in which you will be able to assist:

     · Tax deductible contribution – The KCWLA playground will cost approximately $100,000 and our contribution is $10,000.  You may make a tax deductible contribution online at www.ourdreamplayground.org/kcwrightschools, or in cash or check to any staff member.  If you are writing a check, please write “KCWLA Play-    ground” in the memo section. 

     · Volunteer for Build Day – On the KCWLA Dream Playground Build Day there will be approximately 300 volunteers (200 from our partners and 100 KCWLA staff, parents, and students) building the playground, installing equipment, and painting different areas.  You may also RSVP as a volunteer at www.ourdreamplayground.org/kcwrightschools .

     · Donations Needed – The KCWLA Dream Playground Build Day is scheduled from 9 am – 5 pm on Friday, Nov. 16.  In order to feed our 300 volunteers, KCWLA will need the following donations:

     o A minimum of 1,000 bottles of drinking water

     o Hamburger patties (Beef and Vegetarian)

     o Hot dogs

     o Chicken breasts

     o Tools for the build (i.e. shovels, wrenches, wheelbarrows, screw-drivers, etc.)

     o Plates, cups, eating & serving utensils
