After a dispute in downtown Orlando, Florida, at least seven shooting victims were taken to the hospital on Sunday. According to Orlando Police Chief Eric D. Smith, a sizable brawl that started earlier that morning at 2 A.M. led to the outbreak of violence. Seven persons were hurt when an unidentified assailant fired shots into the crowd while brandishing a weapon. The seven patients were all brought to a neighboring hospital, where Smith said their conditions were reported as stable. The shooter’s description is not available to authorities. Three hundred eighty-one (381) or more mass shootings have occurred in the US so far this year.  At least 1.7 mass shootings occur, on average per day, according to statistics.
