Black Leader, Shooting Survivor Calls For Ouster Of ‘Woke’ Prosecutors

CCA Executive Director DaQuawn Bruce

CCA: If prosecutors refuse to do their jobs, we need to replace them with people who will

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Recently, a national Black leader hailed the move by Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey to attempt to remove St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner from office. Concerned Communities for America (CCA) Executive Director DaQuawn Bruce, a shooting survivor who lost a close family member to violent crime, issued the following statement:

“Attorney General Bailey’s announcement that he will take legal action to remove Kim Gardner from office is a strong signal to other ‘woke’ prosecutors that their days are numbered.

“Unfortunately, Kim Gardner and other ‘woke,’ soft-on-crime prosecutors are letting criminals run wild as they seek to implement a political agenda that ignores victims and scorns the men and women of law enforcement who risk their lives to keep us safe.

“The ideology that seeks to ‘defund the police’ and refuses to prosecute those who commit serious crimes has led to an epidemic of crime and violence that disproportionately harms the residents of Black and Brown communities in our nation’s largest cities. If prosecutors refuse to do their jobs, we need to replace them with people who will.”
