      NATIONWIDE — Sally Washington, who is from Laurel, Maryland, is now 109 years old. She was born on July 31, 1914 in Danville, Virginia. In the 1930s, she moved to the Washington DC metro area where she lived for over 80 years before residing now in Laurel, Maryland.

    She is a devoted member of her church and a woman of many interests.

    “What do I like? I like to eat and talk and cook and play around. I like shows,” Washington told WUSA9.

    Her hobbies include sewing, needlepoint, and cooking, which she even turned into a profession. “I like to make cookies and cake and things like that,” she added.
