Broward Businesses are Winning MAP Broward funded Government Contracts!

Local Broward County businesses have been paid over $11 million on Broward County’s MAP Broward (Mobility Advancement Program) funded projects. MAP Broward funding was approved in November 2018 by Broward County voters as a 1% surtax for 30 years. Tasked with improving transportation in Broward County, MAP Broward is estimated to generate $355 million annually for 27 more years with a projected $53 million annually in project opportunities for local certified Broward County businesses.

With economic development as one of MAP Broward’s five goals, Broward County’s Board of County Commissioners unanimously adopted a 30% participation goal for certified Broward County CBE (County Business Enterprise) firms. CBE firms are winning MAP Broward contracts as prime contractors and subconsultants with both Broward County and cities throughout the county as funding is also available to cities with qualifying projects. Broward County’s Office of Economic and Small Business Development certifies Broward County businesses, reviews MAP Broward projects, and assigns a percentage of work to be performed by local certified Broward County businesses on eligible projects. If you are a local Broward County business in the field of roadway improvements, planning and design, landscaping, drainage, electrical, material hauling, communication and marketing, or rail, now is the time to participate in government contracting with Broward County and your local city.
