City of Fort Lauderdale Traffic Advisory: Road Closure SW 9 Ave. Beginning Jan. 14

Fort Lauderdale – The City of Fort Lauderdale will temporarily close asection of S.W. 9^th Avenue between S.W. 15 and S.W. 16^th Streets for five days beginning Monday, January 14, 2013 at 9 a.m. The temporary road closure is necessary to allow a City contractor to perform an emergency repair on a sewer line. The City expects to reopen S.W. 9^th Avenue on Friday, January 18^th by 5 p.m.

Message boards and detour signs will be posted in the area to alert motorists of the road closure.

North and southbound traffic on S.W. 9^th Avenue will be detoured to S.W. 8^th Avenue via S.W. 15^th or S.W. 16^th Street.

Motorists should expect traffic delays in and around the restricted area. They are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and travel slowly to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and other motorists.
