The Westside Gazette

Dear Mr. Henry

While reading recent issue of the “Westside Gazette, Broward County’s oldest and largest African owned and operated Newspaper” memories of my ancestors “Deeply Rooted” heritage reawakened.

My ancestors migrated from the south during my upbringing. They relocated north, south, east and west. They shared their struggle to gain freedom and individualism in America. As a “Sharecroppers” daughter growing up in the South during the late 1930’s, thank you for sharing, researching, writing and reflecting on the struggle.

A heartfelt “thank you” to all of you for sharing the Gazette stories of “Jamestown to Jamestown: Commemorating 400 Years of the African Diaspora Experience,” Census, Voting Rights Act, Deceptive Political Policies and reflecting on the recent “Catastrophic” hurricane, etc.

Sincerely,

Maggie R. Curry-Ware
