Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Hosts 5th Annual Deltas on the Run in Support of The Lupus Foundation

      BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The South Broward Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (SBAC) is hosting its 5th Annual Deltas 5K Lupus Run/Walk. As an organization of predominantly African American women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is uniquely positioned to impact not only the well-being of its membership, but also the families and communities we serve. The DeltaCare initiative is an internal wellness initiative under the programmatic thrust of Physical and Mental Health. It was created to promote self-care through physical wellness, emotional wellness, and awareness/advocacy. Specifically, the Red S.H.O.E. challenge is the physical health component of DeltaCare that encourages members to engage in healthy behaviors. S.H.O.E. is an acronym for Self-care, Healthy Options, and Exercise.

The purpose of the event is to support the Lupus Foundation and South Broward Alumnae Chapter projects. It will take place at Charnow Park, 300 Connecticut St., Hollywood, FL, 33019 on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 6 a.m. The race starts at 7 a.m.

Participation can be done in person or virtually. For in-person registration the fee is $40 and for virtual participation the fee is $35. For “Run Club Discounts” contact pmhsbac@gmail.com.
