The Bengals entered yesterday’s game with the worst record at 1-13, but they still managed to take the Dolphins into overtime. It started to look like a one-sided game with the Dolphins being up 21 to 6 at halftime. Miami’s defense was able to hold the Bengals to two field goals. The defense bent but did not break, the Bengals were able to get field position but could not put 6 points on the board. They were able to get to Dalton and sack him four times. However, it was a different story in the second half, the Bengals came storming back and ended up tying the game at 35 to send it into overtime.

The Dolphins run game was better in this game, be-tween three running backs they rushed for a total of 78 yards, while Cincinnati’s three running backs rushed for a total of 59 yards. The passing game worked well for both teams, both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andy Dalton threw a total of 108 times. Fitzpatrick was 31 of 52 for 419 yards, four touchdowns and an interception while also being sacked twice, while Dalton was 33 of 56 for 396 yards and four touchdowns. Center Daniel Kilgore liked the way their quarterback played Sunday. “It’s just ex-citing every week because he plays with so much joy and you can just tell he loves the game,” he says. “For him to be as old as he is and still going out and running around making throws and making calls and doing things that normal people can’t do, it’s pretty exciting and I love to play for him. He loves his teammates, he loves the staff and he is an awesome leader. He is probably top five for me as far as teammates.”

DeVante Parker had another big game with 111 receiving yards and a touchdown. Fitzpatrick’s other favorite target, Mike Gesicki, scored two receiving touchdowns with 82 receiving yards.

The other receivers got going as well with Albert Wilson contributing  79 yards and Isaiah Ford also added 68 yards. With this performance DeVante has reached the 1,000 yard mark for the season. How does he feel about reaching this accomplishment? “I mean eventually, one of the seasons I would have 1,000. It happened to be this one,” he says. “Thank ‘Fitz’ (Ryan Fitzpatrick) for that, and the o-line and everyone else.” The offense was able to keep the lead all game, but the defense was unable to keep Cincinnati from scoring in the second half. Next week for the final game of the season, the Dolphins have a tough rivalry road game against the Patriots. Anything is possible, and any team can lose on any given Sunday.

The Patriots will bring their A game because they are playing for the number two seed. If Dolphins win, the Patriots can lose their number two seed in the playoffs and fall to number 3. Can the Dolphins ride this momentum and pull out a win next week? We will find out Sunday.
