Empowering the Next Generation: The Fort Lauderdale Black Police Association Hosts Successful Teen Summit

On this past weekend the Fort Lauderdale Black Police Association (FLBPA) hosted its inaugural Teen Summit, a groundbreaking event aimed at inspiring and empowering the youth of Broward County. The summit brought together well over 200 teenagers from diverse backgrounds to engage in meaningful discussions, workshops, and activities focused on personal growth, leadership development, and community building.

Who emphasized the importance of education, self-belief, and community involvement. Attending  The Fort Lauderdale Black Police Association was Rosalind Osgood  representing Florida Senator for District 32.

The teens then participated in interactive sessions led by experienced professionals and mentors, covering topics such as:

– Leadership and teamwork

– Career development and mentorship

– Mental health and wellness

– Financial literacy and entrepreneurship

– Social justice and community activism

       Throughout the summit, attendees had the opportunity to engage with local law enforcement officials, including members of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, who shared their experiences and insights on building positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.

The FLBPA also presented awards and recognition to outstanding teens who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic achievement, and community service.

  The Teen Summit culminated in a dynamic panel discussion featuring local leaders and influencers, who shared their personal stories and offered guidance on navigating challenges and achieving success.

The event concluded with a call to action, encouraging the teens to become active change-makers in their communities and to continue the conversations and connections made during the summit.

       The Fort Lauderdale Black Police Association’s Teen Summit marked a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to investing in the future of Broward County’s youth. By providing a platform for empowerment, education, and connection, the FLBPA is helping to shape the next generation of leaders and community advocates.
