Otis Wallace

Florida City native Otis Wallace became his community’s first Black mayor in 1984 at the age of 32. He was elected as the only Black commissioner of Florida City while still a second-year law student at the University of Miami in 1976. I, Alonzo Hardy, firmly believe that he is the longest serving Black elected official in Florida history.
