Fort Lauderdale Firefighters Go Pink for the Month of October —  Fort Lauderdale firefighters will be sporting a different looking uniform in the month of  October. In support of  raising awareness in the fight against breast cancer, firefighters in Fort Lauderdale will be wearing pink uniform T-Shirts in place of the normal blue and white throughout the month of October. According to Lieutenant Michael Salzano, vice president of the Firefighters Union Local 765, which provided the pink uniform shirts at no cost to the city, “The pink T-shirt will be worn to raise awareness towards breast cancer, as well as to honor its victims and survivors.” For Additional Fire Department information and other useful links you can log onto our website at: https://www.fortlauderdale.gov/fire-rescue.
