On Friday, October 26, over 50 avid golfers and senior advocates joined the Aging and Disability Resource Center to commemorate the 30th Annual Swing for Seniors Golf Tournament. The highly anticipated event was held at the Jacaranda Golf Club in Plantation.
The weather was beautiful, and the players were upbeat throughout the entire day. Long drives and successful putts brought checks and applause from the players who scrambled their scores to qualify for trophies and other awards.
David Lieberman and Campbell Epes co-chaired the tournament. David is a member of the Board of Directors of the Areawide Council on Aging, and Campbell is a member of the Aging and Disability Resource Center’s Advisory Council. North Lauderdale Mayor Jack Brady and Alan Brass, both members of Broward’s Senior Hall of Fame, were the Honorary Co-Chairs.
The funds raised from the Swing for Seniors Tournament will be designated for programs funded by the Aging and Disability Resource Center, which is the prime focal point for Broward’s nutrition, senior centers, Alzheimer’s Day Care, and information and referral projects.
