A Message From The Publisher

By Bobby R. Henry, Sr.

Not to take away from any accomplishments of the talent on DISPLAY butt, there is something to be said about some of the scenes during the show.

Ass I was saying, If “that” award show is any indication to what we are now considering to be award-winning performances, I know I must be older than what I think I am.

What are we rewarding when we don’t bring questions to that which we do not understand and support it by not addressing it?

I do realize that art and entertainment are appreciated and appealing to an individual’s taste. I am also aware of the influence and power of the Black women as well as the new found freedom to express themselves with the right to do so unequivocally and without any authorization. However, some self-expressions need not be on public display. As we venture openly into freedoms of expression, acceptance of differences, what will be the boundaries of protection for the young, elderly, faint of heart and even those who dare to be different?

Maybe I am dating myself, but I do  remember that when someone said, “ you must dress the part”, not only was it in representation of your outward appearance but what you projected from the inside out.

Yes, freedom means a lot and freedom comes at a price; are we willing to pay the price for it?
