Recently, Asian Americans have been receiving much hate due to the pandemic. Asian Americans received hate way before this virus, however, it became greater because of the coronavirus. Former President Donald Trump stated that at the start of the virus it was “the China virus,” which caused them to be blamed by many Americans. Asian Americans with small businesses were already suffering, but because of the discrimination another financial crisis struck. Additionally, an incident earlier this week happened. Eight people, six being Asian women, were killed in Atlanta. Though the past year has intensified hate towards that community, it is inspiring many Asian Americans to stop being silent and speaking out on these experiences.
