M-DSPD PATROL OFFICER HONORED DURING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS CEREMONY — Chief Ian A. Moffett congratulates Patrol Officer Gerardo Alayon for winning the 2014 Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) Award in the Uniform Services category and the Office of the Attorney General’s “Outstanding Law Enforcement” Award. Officer Alayon’s intuitiveness and investigative skills enabled him to gain the trust of a teenage student, uncovering information that she was a victim of “human trafficking” and forced prostitution which led to the arrest of the adult male subjects for their exploitation of the young victim.
