Melania’s  Destiny  with Democracy

John Johnson II

“How does someone unfit and unstable rise to lead a nation? It’s when voters choose to turn a blind eye.”   John Johnson II .. 10/09/24

The Book of Esther tells a divine story of how Queen Esther, the beautiful wife of King Ahasuerus of Persia, and her cousin Mordecai saved the Jewish people. King Ahasuerus’  Chief  Minister, Haman, plotted and schemed to convince the King to murder Jews throughout the empire. However, will former First Lady Melania’s destiny with Democracy involve saving Democracy?

Esther’s scriptures remain highly read, discussed, and a central topic for religious sermons. Its lessons demonstrate that one living under a foreign power can form a community bond. Such a bond led to Esther’s and Mordecai’s heroic actions to save the Jewish people.

The biblical scriptures also provide lessons that offer an analogy between providence and secular intervention. They teach us that even when things seem hopeless, our motivation to intervene should come from our morals, values, integrity, and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution. This is a call to action for all of us.

Let’s compare how Providence guided Esther to Melania’s life. Esther was an orphan but became a Queen. Melania was a model, and First Lady of the U.S. It’s reported that Melania is worth approximately $50 million, having earned a fortune from her jewelry line, skin care products, and property investments.

On the other hand, Esther became wise, wealthy, and powerful as a queen. Yet, at a crucial time, Queen Esther, a Jewish woman, risked her life to save the  Jewish people from suffering and murder. Her chosen life’s role saved thousands. Rightfully, no biblical scholars have written anything critical about her not coming to the aid of the Jewish people earlier.

During her four years as First Lady, Melania focused on resolving children’s issues and opposed her husband’s family separation policy. Do these matters Justify a comparison to the Bible’s Esther? For scholars and pundits, it may be just a bit too much. Without question, Melania remains highly devoted to her son, Barron’s growth and development and his successful future. He appears on track to becoming successful.

Has she attempted to explain to  Republicans that voting as a Republican isn’t a birthright no more than being a Miami Dolphin football fan or married to a  former Republican President? The answer is No! It’s all about voters having the freedom to choose. Does it make more sense to select a fellow Republican who’s also a convicted sexual assaulter to be President of all girls’ colleges such as Spelman or Wellesley? No, it doesn’t unless you’re an undecided and unhinged (unstable) voter.

Recently, Former First Lady Melania Trump, an immigrant herself, spoke out against her husband, Former President Trump, to defend women’s rights to an abortion. Her actions didn’t demonstrate that she feared damaging her husband’s Presidential aspirations. Or did her vocal comments about women’s reproductive rights merely serve to publicize her upcoming book?

Hopefully, Melania’s destiny with Democracy transcends every effort by her husband, Former President Trump, to destroy Democracy and transform America into an autocracy. Nevertheless, suppose her sense of patriotism stops short of admitting that her husband lost the 2024 presidential election and denouncing the Jan.6th violent insurrection. In that case, she, too, views her husband with a “blind eye,” which doesn’t justify a comparison to Esther.

It’s a known fact that former President Trump, whose own VP, JD Vance, once compared him to Hitler,  cannot elect himself. Undecided voters and those who regard party affiliation as an unchangeable birthright offer Trump the only slim chance of becoming president again. VP/Presidential candidate Harris and VP candidate Walz are doing their best to ensure Trump’s Presidential aspirations fall short.

Still, more Republican voters, including billionaires, have less than 28 days left to evolve into pro-democracy voters. Republican voters need not abandon their Party; instead, the Party must abandon Trump along with his Project 2025.

This is a crucial moment for our Democracy, and we all have a role to play.

YOU BE THE JUDGE!
