The film and its stars have already caught a lot of flack surround the release (the movie comes out December 25). It all started with Jamie Foxx hosting Saturday Night Live, and many viewers were upset by his opening monologue.
“I got a new movie coming out, Django, check it out…Django Unchained, I play a slave. How black is that? In the movie, I have to wear chains. How whack is that? But don’t be worried about it, because I get out the chains, I save my wife, and I kill all the white people in the movie. How great is that? And how black is that?”
Check the monologue out here.
Not only that, Tarantino has said that the 1977 TV miniseries Roots was a false storytelling of slavery. Sir?? Oh, and let’s not forget Matt Drudge of The Drudge Report who went on an N-word spree in his response to the movie.
Cathy Hughes sits down with the film’s stars to give a revealing look and Tarantino explains why about why he wrote and directed this particular film. Will their explanations coax you into watching the movie?
