Black History Month Profile:

What figure in Black History would you most like to meet and why?

The figure in Black History that I would have been most elated to meet is Rosa Parks. I am inspired by her because she was a strong woman who had the courage to stand up for what she believed in, even though it meant going against the status quo. Rosa Parks was a leader, a visionary and an inspiration to many. Her defiance helped to spark the flame in the fight for racial equality and the Civil Rights Movement.

What do you think about when you think of Black History Month?

When I think of Black History Month, what comes to mind is the many leaders who fought for equality so that I could have the opportunities that I do today. It’s because of those great leaders that I am able to dream as big as I do and feel confident that with hard work and determination, those dreams can and will come true.

What are you most proud of, professionally or personally?

What I am most proud of personally is my 11-year-old son. He has developed into an amazing young man. He is kind, caring and always sees the best in everyone and every situation. He inspires me to be a better person every day.
