ATLANTA, GA — On recently, Sen. Sonya Halpern (D–Atlanta) was sworn in by Judge Trent Brown to serve the 39th Senate District for her third term. The Democratic Caucus also elected Sen. Halpern to serve as Democratic Vice Chair for a second term.
“I am deeply honored to be sworn in for a third term to serve the incredible people of Georgia’s 39th Senate District and to continue my work as Vice Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus,” said Sen. Halpern. “Representing such a vibrant and diverse community while advocating for meaningful change is a privilege. My focus remains on advancing legislation that strengthens education and expands our workforce and economic opportunities for all Georgians. I look forward to partnering with my colleagues and constituents to turn these priorities into progress.”
Elected in 2020, Sen. Halpern represents the 39th Senate District, which includes portions of Fulton County. She is a member of the Senate Committees on Appropriations, Banking and Financial Institutions, Education and Youth and Health and Human Services. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Urban Affairs and an Ex-Officio member of the Senate Committee on Public Safety.
