The Browns’ quarterback room appears to be taking shape, and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders will be part of the final cutdown.

Schefter reported Sunday that Sanders, the former Colorado standout and son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, is expected to secure a spot on Cleveland’s 53-man roster when the team announces its final moves ahead of Tuesday’s NFL deadline.

The 22-year-old has impressed throughout the preseason with poise, accuracy, and command in limited action. He capped off his exhibition slate with a crisp performance Friday night, completing several key throws in a two-minute drill that caught the attention of coaches and teammates alike.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski declined to name his full roster decisions after the game but spoke glowingly about Sanders’ development. “He’s been a professional from the start,” Stefanski said. “Every week he’s taken a step forward. The players respect the way he prepares, and that’s all you can really ask from a young quarterback.”

The ex-Jackson State and Colorado QB, entered training camp facing questions about whether he would begin the season on the practice squad or as a developmental prospect. Instead, his steady play reportedly pushed the Browns to keep him behind starter Deshaun Watson and veteran backup Jameis Winston.

Teammates have noted his calm presence in the huddle, a trait many scouts highlighted during the pre-draft process. Wide receiver Amari Cooper praised Sanders earlier this month, saying, “He doesn’t get rattled. That kind of composure is rare for someone just getting started.”

Sanders, projected as a mid-to-late round pick last spring, slid in the draft before Cleveland grabbed him as a potential long-term investment. If Schefter’s reporting holds true, that investment is already paying immediate dividends.

The official 53-man roster will be released by the league office Tuesday afternoon, but for now, Browns fans can expect to see Shedeur Sanders’ name on it.
