Sylvester “Nunnie” Robinson: Inductee into the 2025 TUHOF 

Sylvester “Nunnie” Robinson, a Brookhaven, Mississippi native, is a 1965 graduate of Alexander High School. He enrolled in Tuskegee in the summer of 1965, lettering 4 years in football as a quarterback . He was named to the B-Division All-Conference team in 1968 and had a brief tryout as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons.

Majoring in English Education, he made the Dean’s List as a junior and senior , was a member of the Little Theatre and was politically active during the turbulent period of the 60s. In 1987, he earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova University in Davie, Florida.

In 1970 Brother Robinson became a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. on the inaugural line – The 8 Bone Devils- Eta Nu Chapter, Pompano Beach, Florida where he has been an active, financial member for 55 years.

He began his professional career as a teacher, coach and administrator in Broward County (Fort Lauderdale), a career spanning some 43 years.

Brother Robinson is an active member of Mt. Hermon AME Church, Fort Lauderdale, where he serves on the Steward Board, the Finance Committee, as a Class Leader and is a member of the Sons of Allen, a male ministry of the AME Church.

He is most proud of his  work in the revitalization and restructuring of SFTAC

(South Florida Tuskegee Alumni Club), representing Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. He has served as president, has attended biennial meetings, is a member the Tuskegee Golden Tigers Athletic Association and has consistently contributed financially to the school’s annual fundraising efforts.

He and his wife Sonia currently reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
