Running Down the RIDICULOUS

To thine enemy’s and friends be true

By Wilson Nathaniel Thomas

My Lord, what a week it has been in the world of politics. It would seem that everything that could have gone wrong in Mitt Romney’s quest to be the CEO…oops, I mean the President of the United States did. The thing that amazes me the most is the indisputable fact that Romney’s pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination was just downright ugly. He proved himself to be one relentlessly nasty, ruthless, cold hearted human being. Romney stopped at nothing to get to where he is today.

Now, one would think that any man who could blow up the campaigns of Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum with horrendously callous attacks would at the very least have sense enough to keep one foot out of his mouth and the other off of the neck of his own campaign, but nope, we have now learned that the man who has spent at least the last year and a half tauting his business experience and his record as a C.E.O is not only a RED HOT RIDICULOUS mess, but this man has just as much managerial talent as a blind bull was have if he were hired to redecorate a china shop.

If it was not clear to everyone in America before, it should be crystal clear to all of you now: Mitt Romney could care less as to what happens to anyone outside of his personal circle. Mittens proved that point when he perched himself up to say that 47 percent of the people living in America were no good, non-tax paying bums who have chosen only one purpose in life, and that is to suckle on the bosom of the government for the rest of their miserable days because they are too lazy, too stupid, and just not motivated enough to get out and do anything productive with their lives.

Romney, in his never-ending at-tempt to humiliate and disparage BLACK folks, Latinos, Native Americans, and other minorities, apparently did not realize that his ignorant, absurd, incendiary, and RIDICULOUS statement actually was more applicable to people in the very states that notoriously vote REPUBLICAN. That’s right folks. Now for the sake of nostalgic relevance, let’s just revisit one of Romney’s latest examples of just how out of touch he is with the very people that he says that he wants to serve. According to the audio and video provided to the world by Mother Jones, Romney said, “There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the President no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this President no matter what ….These are people who pay no income tax.”

Here are some facts that perhaps someone in the Romney camp should have had either the sense or the journalistic instinct to at the very least, GOOGLE before Romney opened his mouth. The very people that Romney offended are the very people that he needs if he is going to have a chance of a snowball’s survival in hell of winning the 2012 election.  Here is a list of the top 10 states with the highest percentages of people not paying taxes: Mississippi 44.5 percent, Georgia 42.5 percent, Alabama 40.3 percent, Florida 39 percent, Arkansas 38.8 percent, South Carolina 38.8 percent, New Mexico 38.7 percent, Idaho 38.6 percent, Texas 38.5 percent and Utah 38.3 percent. The most important thing to note about this latest ‘Hello I am Mitt Romney, and I am going to see how long it takes me to pull my foot out of my own behind’ moment is the fact that eight out of the 10 states mentioned above, are Republican states. When you consider this fact, it is not hard to understand why it is that Birthers are now saying that they are going to vote for the President because they can’t stomach the thought of voting for Romney.

Besides the fact that Romney showed the world yet again just how little political talent he actually has when he cracked his lips to spew this nonsense, he isolated and then insulted many of the people who were actually going to suck it up and vote for him, because although they dislike him, they had already decided earlier on that they hated President Obama more. Now, thanks to Romney and that slap happy, uncontrollable mouth of his, he has sent Republican voters and Republican candidates running for the hills. Seriously, Republicans who are trying to hang on to their Senate and Congressional seats are running away from Romney quicker than a circus of fleas can jump off of a dead dog.

One might think that Mr. Romney and his camp would have other things on their minds like how to handle the situation regarding his tax returns more artfully. Romney’s quick release of his 2011 tax returns was a complete disaster, and the clumsiness of it all did very little to quiet the noise of the increasing wagons that collectively circle around his house of cards.

When a candidate releases one year of his tax returns late on a Friday afternoon, it is not hard to figure out that there is a real problem. The sense that something in the milk just isn’t clean hits you harder than an NFL tackle.
