Brother Paul Hughes, 320 Past Master has completed all the work on his Trestleboard

     Brother Paul Hughes was elected the 9th Worshipful Master of McBride Lodge No. 390 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. McBride Masonic Lodge No. 390 was organized and chartered to operate on May 24, 1914. The Lodge began its working under the protection of the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge Florida, Belize Central America and St. Johns US Virgin Islands located at 410 Broad Street, Jacksonville, Florida, by the late Grand Master C. H. Henry.

    Brother Hughes has held the following elected offices during his Masonic traveling: Elected Grand District Deputy District No. 10, elected High Priest of Royal Palm Chapter No. 121 Holy Royal Arch Masons, elected Eminent Commander of Palm City Commandry No. 37 Knights of Tempelar Masons, elected Worthy Patron to Golden Victor Chapter No. 144 Order of Eastern Star, elected Worthy Joshua and Deputy of Rose Bud Court No. 248 Heroines of Jericho, Advisor to Alisha Court No. 5 Circle of Perfection. He was also elected Grand Royal Advisor to The Hattie C. Dandridge Grand Gill, Heroines Temple Crusaders. Paul Hughes is also A Scottish Rite Mason. He received his 32 and was made a Sublime Prince of The Royal Secrets in St. Joseph Consistory No. 275 in the valley of Hollywood, Florida.

    Like many great Masons, Brother Hughes was very active in his church, The New Mount Olive Baptist Church, for 61 years, where he was a devoted member and he served as a faithful Usher.

    Paul Hughes  was born January 12, 1929 in Midville, GA to the union of Robert and Pearl Hughes. He attended Ft. Valley College (Ft. Valley State University) in Georgia. He was drafted to the Army in 1950 and served in the Korean War as a forward scout. He worked for Food Fair/Pantry Pride Food chain for over 40 years.

    He was united in Holy Matrimony to Myrtle Armbrister and to this union two boys and three girls were born. He departed this life on December 14, 2012. He was preceded in death by: his parents Robert and Pearl Hughes, two sisters, Jessie Mae Hughes and Annie Lee Phillips; one brother, Robert Hughes, Jr. (Bubba), great grandson, Vernon Keith Adams.

    Mr. Paul Hughes leaves to cherish his memories: mother of his children-Myrtle Hughes Oban; his children-Brenda Pitman (Jerome), Ronnie Hughes (Vanessa), Michael Hughes (Ann), Karen Hughes Mullen (Vincent) and Gail Hughes; his special friend, Ms. Annie Gregory; grandchildren, Brian Moore, Star Long (Lorenzo), Latonya (Cedrick), Takara Martin, Quentin Hughes, Nicole Hughes, Aktsha Hughes, Caeden Drayton, Marcus Hughes, TaShawna Mullen and Vincent Mullen II; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
