Submitted by Joy Oglesby

In partnership with the Broward Partnership for the Homeless, teenagers from the southeastern region (Florida, Alabama and Georgia) of Jack and Jill of America gave away $42,000 to 5 deserving families. The teens raised the money through a Double Good fundraiser.

The Broward teens were on-site to welcome families and help present checks on Saturday, May 20 at St. George Park, Lauderhill. The teens, who are part of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., including the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chapter, want to make a real difference for people in their community.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2-19, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty.
