Marcus Garvey had a vision and led a movement which espoused Black pride and Black self-reliance, economic independence and Black unity, garnered unprecedented support around the world. But he was wrongfully convicted in 1923 and his son, Dr. Julius Garvey, is now leading the effort, seeking a posthumous Presidential pardon. It’s been nearly 100 years and while justice has been delayed, it should not be denied.
The Justice4Garvey.org effort is seeking 100,000 signatures by Wednesday, September 28 as a first step in the process toward a posthumous Presidential pardon by President Obama.
