The annual Back to School Family Health Fair will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 from 9 a.m. 12 noon at Lauderdale Manor Early Learning and Resource Center, 1400 N.W. 14 Ct., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Children will be provided with free immunizations, physicals, dental and vision screening, backpacks, school supplies and lunch (while supplies last). Davidson, Senior Pastor of New Mount Olive Baptist Church, South Florida Pastors, elected officials, law enforcement leaders and the Westside Gazette newspaper will host a Prayer Rally for Peace. The Rally will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 6 p.m., in the Main Sanctuary of New Mount Olive Baptist Church located at 400 N.W. Ninth Ave, Fort Lauderdale Fla. Dr. Davidson states, “In light of the recent events in Ferguson, MO, we must come together to address the issues as a com-munity and provide our support through prayer. We must ensure that peace prevails among our people and in our community. Saba Temple #186 and Saba Court # 172 presents a "Strike For A Cure of Diabetes with a Bowling Tournament on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014 held at the Striker Family Center Bowling Ally, 8500 N.W. 44 Street, Lauderhill, Fla. The cost/donation is $20.00 per adult, $10.00 for ages 7 to 17, and $5.00 for children 6 and under. The donation includes food, non-alcoholic beverages and shoes.
