Month: November 2023

World War II was a period of great bravery and sacrifice, with numerous accounts of heroism engraved in history. However, there are still some stories that have remained concealed, shrouded by the veil of time. One such narrative is that of Charles Jackson French, an unacknowledged hero whose exceptional courage rescued the lives of his fellow sailors during one of the most dangerous moments of the war.

Pompano Beach Arts was delighted to kick off a brand-new event, The Living Room Concert Series, in front of an appreciative crowd on October 12, 2023, with the soul-stirring, emotion-provoking, sonically pleasing fusion of jazz, funk, and soul sounds of The Harden Project, the core of which is singer/composer/author Ja’Nia Harden and musician/composer/arranger John Harden.

The final score, 31-17, shouldn’t mislead anyone. In defeating division and conference rival New England for the second time this season, the Fins conquered a determined, proud and improved football team riding the waves of an upset victory over the Buffalo Bills, the pre-season favorite to win the division, the same Bills that pulverized our Dolphins earlier in the year.
