ARMY SALUTE — Kerren McKinney Jefferson was one of the graduates recently honored at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Pompano Beach. Among her accomplishments include graduating with Academic Honors from Blanche Ely High School, logging in over 750, Community Service Volunteer Hours, receiving the David Wright Academic Scholarship, and recognition from City Commissioner Woody Poitier and State Rep. Gwyn Clarke Reed for her Award of Excellence from the U.S. Army JROTC division. Kerren is pictured here with Ret. Master Sgt. Granville Scott, Mary Goins Jefferson, grandmother who raised and her Rev. Anthony Burrell, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Pompano Beach. Kerren received a full Academic scholarship to Alabama State University in Montgomery, Ala.
