      Board member Sarah Leonardo recently asked that the Board engage in training on Robert’s Rules of Order. That would really be beneficial to the Board, but it is also important that the Interim Board Attorney, Marilyn Batista, is sitting on the front row with a college ruled note pad. Not only is she not well versed on Robert’s Rules, but she comes off as not well versed on the Sunshine Law and how to advise the Board as it relates to both.

     Red Broward is reporting that Hixon worked for the cryptocurrency giant, FTX that recently filed for bankruptcy. The organization has lost a reported $15 billion in one week. You read right. Not $1,500, $15,000 or $15,000,000. FTX has lost $15 billion… that’s 15 with nine zeroes behind it. Furthermore, the legitimacy of the organization is in question, therefore they are not collecting any additional funds or donations until this can all be squared away.

       As I sat in the audience at the Broward Schools Board meeting on yesterday as they discussed the approved termination of superintendent Vicky Cartwright, at one time I thought that I was at a dress rehearsal of a stage play called “what went wrong with the attorney.” If you have been following the news and the saga surrounding the BROWARD COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, you know that the superintendent has been criticized and rightfully so for her incompetency in her leadership ability as overseen in managing herself and others.
