 The recent tropical storm has now moved to a Category 4 Hurricane. Hurricane Ida has made its mark on history and other states, but Louisiana has gotten the most damage from it right now. More than 1,000,000 people have no electricity, and barges have broken loose from their berths and there are four known deaths because of Ida. McDonald’s Meals For Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Broward’s Bigs And Littles

The Broward County Emergency Rental Assistance program can pay up to 12 months in past due rent and utilities if renters have experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

     To assist Broward County renters in avoiding eviction, the County is offering emergency rent and utility payments to low-income renters through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). Applications are still being accepted, but eviction protections have ended so renters are urged to act quickly. Broward County has opened four in-person intake centers to help speed the application process in addition to providing a call center staffed with multilingual English/Spanish/Haitian Creole professionals from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
