Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has willingly allowed his unethical behavior to cast himself as a Black man beguiled by a billionaire white man. Justice Thomas is now reminiscent of the Uncle Tom character angry 18th Century racists whites chose to mis-characterized in Harriet Beecher Stowe’s bestselling novel, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.”

Regrettably, women have been taken advantage of by white men for Centuries. Sadly, there continues little or no resistance that has been taken to defend women against societal norms, religious dogma, and laws that steadily suppress their inalienable rights. Looking back as how men labeled animals as livestock or poultry, their treatment then and now says, “Women are merely human livestock.”
The suggestion that young and gay will generate more voter support than old and gray is not necessarily a winning suggestion.
It got worse. Sadly, after so much targeting of presumably innocent black males, he’d had enough. He had become semi-militant in his thoughts on law enforcement. This struck the core of my mental state. The notion that in a situation he might lose it concerned me to the point that it began to take a toll physically on me. Fortunately, he got over that mode shortly and I could breathe somewhat easier in his absence.
Since taking office, Gov. Ron DeSantis has waged a calculated assault on the rights of Black Floridians. If our community doesn’t fight back with the “fierce urgency of now” invoked by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., our children and grandchildren will likely face a bleak future in this state.

The more Governor DeSantis pretends to be the Captain of Florida’s peninsula, the less he appears capable of steering it through its treacherous political waters. His obsessions for political power as well as mission to become president has driven him to rule with a doubled sword, dipped in retribution and racism.
